Membracids at Mburucuya National Park

This group of membracids (Auchenorrhyncha: Membracidae) are clustered together around several eggnests (brown masses). Ants can be seen "tending" some of the membracids - the ants protect the membracids from predators in return for the honeydew that the membracids excrete.
