Villarsia cambodiana Hance
- Hance, H.F. 1877. Corolla Pierreana. J. Bot. 15: 327-338.
Tota planta exsiccata olivaceo-fusca, spongiosa, foliis radicalibus ovato-oblongis integerrimis obtusis 2-2½ poll. longis 7-10 lin. latis introveniis petiolo 4-5 pollicari basi vaginante, caulibus floriferis folia paulo superantibus superne dichotomis folio unico petiolato ovato-lanceolato ad dichotomiae basini bracteisque sessilibus lanceolatis ad ramificationes praeditis, floribus 4-6 lateraliter aggregatis longe pedicellatis; calycis glaberrimi trilinealis basi obtusi laciniis oblongis obtusiusculis, corollae calycem paulo excedentis segmentis (quantum observare potui) efimbriatis ecristatisque, glandulis hypogynis parvis, ovario calyce breviore ovoideo basi lata adfixo, stigmatis sessilis lobis brevibus oblongis. The whole dried plant dark-olive, spongiose. Radical leaves ovate-oblong, entire, obtuse, 2.0-2.5in [5.1-6.4 cm] long, 7-10 lin [1.5-2.1 cm] wide, [introveniis]. Petiole 4-5 in [10.2-12.7 cm], sheathing at the base. The inflorescence stem surpasses the leaves by a little, branching dichotomously above, with a single, petiolate, ovate-lanceolate leaf at the base of the dichotomy, and with sessile, lanceolate bracts at subsequent branchings. Flowers 4-6, laterally aggregated, longly pedicellate. Calyx 3 lin [6.4 mm], obtuse at the base, lobes very glabrous, oblong, rather obtuse. Corolla segments (insofar as I was able to observe) not fimbriate nor crested, exceeding the calyx by a little. Hypogynous glands small. Ovary ovoid, attached to the broad calyx rather briefly at the base. Stigma sessile, the lobes short, oblong.
It seems particularly affined to V. ovata Vent, of South Africa, more strongly than to Australian species, but along with Centrolepis cambodiana and Mitrasacme setosa, described above, it indicates to me a certain, hardly doubtful, resemblance of flowers in Cambodia and Australia.

Villarsia rhomboidalis Dop
- Dop, P. 1912. Gentianacées nouvelles de l'Indo-Chine. Bull. Soc. Bot. France 59: 145-147.
Herba aquatica 10-20 cm. alta. Folia ima aggregata, rhomboidalia, basi attenuata, apice obtusa, integra vel paulum sinuato-dentata, glabra coriacea, in sicco brunneo-nigra, 4-6.5 cm. longa, 1-3 cm. lata. Sepala 5; calycis tubus subnullus; lobi subaequales, crassi, oblongi, lanceolati, 5 mm. longi. Petala 5, corollae tubus subnullus; lobi valvati, inaequales, 3-nerves, marginibus latis fimbriatis et induplicatis 5-7 mm. longis. Stamina 4, fere sessilia, ad basim tubi inserta; antherae sagittatae, angustae, apiculatae. Ovarium conicum, apice attenuatum; stylus 2 mm. longus; stigma duobus lobis latis petaloideis. Capsula? Semina (non matura), pauca, orbicularia, crassa. Aquatic herb, 10-20cm tall. Lower leaves aggregated, rhomboid, attenuate at the base, obtuse at the apex, entire or slightly sinuate-dentate, glabrous, coriaceous, brown-black when dried, 4.0-6.5 cm long, 1-3 cm wide. The inflorescence scape is often solitary or 2-3, smooth, with small leaves that alternate or are subopposite beneath the flowers, strongly smaller than the radical leaves, oval or linear or spathulate, up to 50mm long, 7mm wide. Cymes corymbose, irregular, few-flowered. Pedicels filiform, 1-10cm long. Flowers yellow, 1-10mm long and broad. Sepals 5. Calyx tube subnull. Lobes subequal, thick, oblong, lanceolate, 5 mm long. Petals 5. Corolla tube subnull. Lobes valvate, inequal, 3-veined, margins broad, fimbriate and induplicate, 5-7 mm long. Stamens 4, nearly sessile, inserted at the base of the tube. Anthers sagittate, narrow, apiculate. Ovary conical, narrowing apically. Style 2 mm long. Stigma of two broad, petaloid lobes. Capsule? Seeds (not mature) few, orbicular, thick.

Obs. - Cette espece se distingue nettement des especes connues de Villarsia par la forme de ses feuilles radicales, l'irregularite de sa corolle, et ses lobes stigmatiques petaloides. L'organisation florale la rapproche assez du genre Limnanthemum. Obs. - This species is distinguished clearly from the known species of Villarsia by the shape of its radical leaves, the irregularity of its corolla, and its petaloid stigmatic lobes. The floral organization brings it closer enough to the genus Limnanthemum.
