Sepalis corolla 2plo brevioribus, corollae - lobis nudis nec margine nec disco fimbriatis, glandula solitaria sessili versus basin auctis, stylo elongato tenuissimo obscure lobato, filamentis brevissimis, seminibus ignotis. Sepals two times shorter than the corolla. Corolla lobes bare, fimbriate at neither the margin nor the disc, with a single, sessile gland toward the base. Style elongate, very thin, faintly lobed. Filaments very short. Seeds unknown.
Adumbr. Affine ex habitu L. Forbesiano. Folium parvum, supra asperiusculum. Glandulae corollae minutae. Stylus ovarium duplo superans. Antherae fere sessiles. Smithio dicit sp. Rees speciem Capensem floribus luteis esse. Outline. Affined in habit with L. Forbesianum. Leaf small, slightly roughened above. Corolla glands tiny. Style twice surpassing the ovary. Anthers nearly sessile. Smith says the Rees specimen is the Cape species with yellow flowers.
Patria. Colonia Capensis. Hab. in rivulis planitiei Capensis (Eckl.!). Fl. Martio. Range. Cape Colony. Lives in streams of the Cape plain (Ecklon!). Flowers in March.

Limnanthemum thunbergianum Griseb.

Sepalis corolla fere 3plo brevioribus, corollae albae lobis margine et disco superne fimbriatis, glandula versus basin solitaria pedicellata auctis, glandulae stipite dense plumoso-fimbriato! (unde coronulae 5 tenuissimae), stylo breviusculo crasso obscure lobato, seminibus numerosis globosis laevibus carinatis. Sp. in coll. Eckl. etc., etiam cult. in hort. bot. Berol. Sepals about three times shorter than the corolla. Corolla lobes white, fimbriate at the margin and disc, with a single, pedicellate gland toward the base, the dense stipe of the gland plumose-fimbriate! (whence five very thin coronulae). Style rather short, thick, obscurely lobed. Seeds numerous, globose, smooth, keeled. Species in the collection of Eckon, etc., even cultured in the botanic gardens of Berol.
Adumbr. Pedunculi 3-10, inaequales, ½-1½" longi, folium aequantes, petiolo proprio semiunciali. Folium laevi, supra laete viride, vix peltatum, pulchre palmatinerve, regulariter repando-dentatum, subtus rubescens laeve, hinc scabrum. Corollae pili inordinati, saepius tantum in margine et disci parte superiori. Outline. Pecuncles 3-10, unequal, 0.5-1.5 in [1.3-3.8 cm] long, equaling the leaf. Petiole about 0.5 in [1.3 cm]. Leaf smooth, light green above, scarcely peltate, handsomely palmately veined, regularly repand-dentate, smooth and reddish below, sometimes rough. Corolla hairs disorderly, quite often on the margin and upper part of the disc.
Patria. Colonia Capensis. Hab. in distr. Uitenhangen alt. l. pr. villam Paul Mare in fl. Zwartkopsrivier (Eckl.!) Fl. Jan. Range. Cape Colony. Lives in district Uitenhangen, near the villa of Paul Mare in the Zwartkops River (Ecklon!). Flowers in January.
