Nymphoides herzogii A.Galán-Mera & G.Navarro

Planta aquatica, rhizomatosa, cum natricibus foliis, et latis inter 3.5 et 7.5 cm, rotundis, palminervis, facie levi et glauca, atque cinerea post tergum, et micantis, simul cum verrucositatibus dantibus aspectum crassum; margine cum aliquo tricoma translucido, pluricellulario atque uniseriato. Inflorescentia umbelliformis, usque ad 25 flores, cum pedicellis inter 3 et 6 cm longis. Flores pentameris, petalis flavissimis, fimbriatis, glabris, circa 9 vel 10 mm; sepalis lanceolatis, inter 5 et 7 mm. Pistillum usque ad 4 mm cum stigma bilobulato. Stamina cum caeruleis antheris 2 mm longis. Capsula ovoidea inter 3 et 5 mm longa, minor quam sepalis, cum 7 ad 10 seminibus usque ad 1.5 mm in diametro, leviter papillosis, ochraceis. Aquatic, rhizomatous plant. Leaves floating, broad, between 3.5 and 7.5 cm broad, round, palmately veined, the surface smooth and glabrous, ashen after [tergum], and [micantis], with verrucose teeth, a thick aspect, the margin with some translucent, multicellular and uniseriate trichome. Inflorescence umbelliform, up to 25 flowers, with pedicels between 3 and 6 cm long. Flowers five-parted, petals very yellow, fimbriate, glabrous, around 9 or 10 mm; sepals lanceolate, between 5 and 7 mm. Pistil up to 4 mm, with a two-lobed stigma. Stamen with blue anthers, 2 mm long. Capsule ovoid, between 3 and 5 mm long, shorter than the sepals, with 7 to 10 seeds up to 1.5 mm in diameter, smoothly papillose, ochre.
Species dicata a conspicuo botanico atque exploratore in terris Boliviensis, Thodor Herzog. A species named after the conspicuous botanist and explorer in the Bolivian territory, Theodor Herzog.
Typus: Bolivia, Santa Cruz, Provincia Andrés Ibáñez, Palmar del Oratorio, charcas entre cordones dunares, 420 m, 18-II-1989, A. A. Galán & G. Navarro lectus (holotypus: MAF 131417, ejemplar inferior izquierdo del pliego). Type: Bolivia, Santa Cruz, Andrès Ibáñez Province: Palmar del Oratorio, pools between [cordones dunares], 420 m. A. A.
