Villarsia exigua (F.Muell.) Hook.f.

Glabra; foliis minutis ovatis indistincte venosis, pedunculis solitariis paucisve, calycis 5-fidi dentibus lanceolato-deltoideis, corolla calycem paulo superante flava lobis integerrimis, stylo brevi, capsula basi calyce adnata. Glabrous. Leaves diminished, indistinctly veined, ovate. Peduncles solitary or few. Calyces five-parted with lanceolate-deltoid teeth. Corolla yellow, surpassing the calyx a little, with entire lobes. Style short. Capsule adnate at the base with the calyx.
Hab. Salt-marshes, at Southport, Oldfield (Mueller).
Mueller describes this as a small, stoloniferous, floating herb, with ovate or rounded leaves 2-6 lines [4-13 mm] long. Peduncles as long as the petioles or shorter. Calyx scarcely 2 lines [4 mm] long. Petals naked. Capsule ovate, adnate with the calyx below. - Allied to V. capitata, Nees, of Swan River, and V. minima of tropical Australia (Mueller).

Glabrum, foliis minutis ovatis indistincte venosis laevibus, pedunculis e nodo solitariis paucisve, calycis ad trientem quinquefidi dentibus lanceolatis deltoideis, corolla parva flava calycem paulo superante, lobis integerrimis, stylo brevi, stigmate subsimplice, capsula infra medium calyci accreta oligosperma, seminibus compresso ovatis laevibus apteris. Glabrous. Leaves diminished, ovate, indistinctly veined, smooth. Peduncles solitary or few from the node. Calyces five-parted to a third of their length, with deltoid, lanceolate teeth. Corolla small, yellow, surpassing the calyx a little, with quite entire lobes. Style short, stigma subsimple. Capsule wrapped up by the calyx below the midpoint, few-seeded. Seeds compressed-ovate, smooth, not winged.

Herba parva stolonifera. Folia 2-6"' longa, raro subrotunda. Pedunculi petiolis aequilongi v. breviores. Calyx vix 2"' longus. Petala fimbriis destituta. Capsula ovata e calyce breviter emersa. Small, stoloniferous herb. Leaves 2-6 lin. [4-12 mm] long, rarely subrotund. Peduncules of equal or shorter length than petioles. Calyx scarcely 2 lin. [4 mm] long. Petals devoid of fringes. Capsule ovate, shortly emergent from the calyx.
Minutie florum foliorum Limnanthemo capitato Nees ex Lehm. et L. minimo in Australia septentrionali detecto convenit. From the smallness of flowers and leaves, comes together with Limnanthemum capitatum Nees ex Lehm. and L. minimum, discovered in southern Australia.
