N. indicum (L.) Kuntze habitu simulans floribusque magnis albis heterostylis. Herba perennans rhizomate crasso, stolonibus fluitantibus nullis; folia ovata profunde cordata. Corolla circa 20 mm longa, lobis villosis. Glandes interstaminales sessiles, hypogyniae glabrae. Capsula obovoidea calyce brevior, seminibus numerosissimis lenticularibus circa 1,2x1 mm, testa laevi nitida.

Similar to N. indica (L.) Kuntze in habit and in the large, white, heterostylous flowers. Perennial herb with thick rhizome, with no floating stolons. Leaves ovate, deeply cordate. Corolla about 20 mm long, lobes villous. Interstaminal glands sessile, hypogynous glands glabrous. Capsule obovoid, shorter than the calyx, with very numerous, lenticular seeds, about 1.2 x 1.0 mm, testa smooth, shining.
