This weir was set up in mid-April 2003 near the Thames River. It is designed to collect fish as they run upstream to spawning habitat. They are funnelled in by the wings pointing downstream, away from the photographer. Fish accumulate in the pen area. The weir will be visited daily and any fish in the pen will be netted out. Most fish will be released to continue their spawning run. A subsample will be reserved for analysis.
