Research interests:
Evo-devo and gene regulation; evolution of insect morphology, especially prothoracic projections; metamorphosis. Also interested in bioinformatics and next generation sequencing. I'm currently working on small scale RNAi projects in Tribolium castaneum, the red flour beetle, and aspire to apply this and other techniques to understanding the development of the pronotum structures of treehoppers (Hemiptera, Membracidae).
