Seminar in Spatial Ecology (Fall 2009)

A forum to present and discuss a variety of issues related to modeling or quantifying spatial and temporal patterns of species distributions and ecological or evolutionary processes. We will meet once a week. Graduate students will present and discuss some of their on-going research or provide an opportunity to present research plans, ideas, or results, and to get feedback from the group. Other meetings may be devoted to reading current or classic papers on spatial-temporal patterns and processes in ecology and evolution.

Professor Sheng Qiang, Nanjing Agricultural University in China will talk briefly about his research on the distribution of Solidago canadensis species complex (which is invasvie in China), and genotypic variation therein, and what he hopes to accomplish during his visit here.
