Recommended Sites for Collecting

  • an easy site is the EEB garden, even outside around the fence. The diversity of orders isn't huge, but its easy and with many of the vines (and plants inside) in flower, there are plenty of hymenoptera, some diptera, and coleoptera.- Jenica
  • along Route 6, around 4 Corners, collect along powerlines
  • Wolf Rock
  • termites!! ... Geert found some today! he's suggested you take Hunting Lodge (coming from campus) past Celeron, on the right side is a field and a trail,

that should be the same habitat.

  • If you have any other suggestions, please email me.

Opportunities in the Sciences

  • Dave may have some projects coming up, if interested speak with him
  • Operation Wallacea will be giving a presentation and information session about how students from US universities can contribute to conservation research conducted in remote areas of Indonesia, Honduras, Egypt, South Africa, and Peru next summer. The presentation/information session is on September 23rd at 4pm in Room 130 in the Bio/Physics Building.
