Monday 2-3 and by appointment in BioPharm 318

Field Trips

  • Wednesday 9/17, 4-6 to the Fenton fields; meet at 4pm by TLS 313
  • Wednesday 9/17, 8-11 to the Fenton for night collecting, we'll likely set up a mercury vapor lamp and possibly a UV light; meet at the Fenton; bring headlamp or flashlight and bug spray
  • Thursday 9/18, during lab, bring headlamp or flashlight
  • Friday 9/19, 10-12 to the Fenton fields; meet at 12pm by TLS 313


Recommended Sites for Collecting

  • along Route 6, around 4 Corners, collect along powerlines
  • Wolf Rock
  • termites!! ... Geert found some today! he's suggested you take Hunting Lodge (coming from campus) past Celeron, on the right side is a field and a trail,

that should be the same habitat.

Opportunities in the Sciences

  • Operation Wallacea will be giving a presentation and information session about how students from US universities can contribute to conservation research conducted in remote areas of Indonesia, Honduras, Egypt, South Africa, and Peru next summer. The presentation/information session is on September 23rd at 4pm in Room 130 in the Bio/Physics Building.
