The NetID is a personal identifier given to each student by the University.

  • The basic format is three letters, followed by five numbers.
    • The letters come from your name (generally first, middle, and last initial).
    • The first two numbers are the year you enrolled (e.g. 01 for 2001).
    • The last three numbers are in place to account for duplicate name/year combinations, so if you were the fourth person to enroll in 2001 with the initials 'ced', your NetID would be ced01004.

The NetID is used as your unique identifier for the purpose of email, interlibrary loans[1], and contributing to EEBedia.
