The NetID is a personal identifier given to each student by the University.
- The basic format is three letters, followed by five numbers.
- The letters come from your name (generally first, middle, and last initial).
- The first two numbers are the year you enrolled (e.g. 01 for 2001).
- The last three numbers are in place to account for duplicate name/year combinations, so if you were the fourth person to enroll in 2001 with the initials 'ced', your NetID would be ced01004.
