Course Description
This class covers the diversity of collecting methods necessary to assess insect biodiversity. Students will spend extensive time in the field collecting insects and observing their ecology and behavior. Identification and taxonomy of insects, in addition to insect collection curation is emphasized.

Attendance:
This summer session is only 5 weeks long. As a result, you are expected to be in attendance for every lecture and field trip scheduled during class time. In the case of illness or an emergency you are expected to contact the Professor before missing classes.

Required:
1- Peterson Field Guide to Insects: America North of Mexico. by Donald J. Borror and Richard E. White
2- Field notebook, it should be bound such as a composition book or the "Write in the Rain" notebooks
Recommended:
- Boots
- Sunscreen

- Water bottle
- Long pants
