The goal of our project is to get our community involved and invested in local nature. We are making an informational and interactive brochure  explaining the benefits of registering for iNaturalist. We will be explaining how and who can use iNaturalist as well as some of the most commonly found species around the UConn Storrs campus. We are including a map with marked locations of where the species can be found. Finally, we started a uconn nature iNatualist project to encourage students, faculty, and nature enthusiasts to begin recording and sharing observations.

UConn Open your eyes brochure

UConn Open Your eyes is a project through a brochure meant to aid in opening the eyes of students, faculty, and visitors to the animal diversity that exists on campus. The brochure presents the idea that we underestimate our surrounding areas such as the Swan Lake, Horsebarn Hill, and the UConn forest (Fenton). There is more than what meets the eye at first glance, often more observations open up the viewer's eyes to things they did not notice before. Also included is a map with places to visit around campus linked with animals that could be seen, if you want to explore and get involved. - Nino & Almedina
