By checking the appropriate box on the graduate school application, you will automatically be considered for research and teaching assistantships and fellowships. EEB generally supports students in both the M.S. and Ph.D. programs in one of these ways (mostly on teaching assistantships). The support package is highly competitive, including a nine-month stipend (ranging from $16,556-$19,369 in 2004), a tuition waiver, and excellent health and dental coverage (the same package the faculty receive). Additional support is often available in the summer months. The human resources department maintains up-to-date information on graduate teaching assistantships and benefits. Some students may be eligible for federal financial aid. Prospective students are encouraged to apply for outside fellowship support. |
