CT BioBlitz 2007: BioBlitz Details

Below are some details on this year's BioBlitz.

What

The 2007 CT BioBlitz. It is an annual science event in Connecticut that takes place at changing locations each year. Scientists from around the country study and count the numerous different species in all different kingdoms of life.

Who

There are numerous Connecticut middle and high-school students as well as world-renowned scientists involved in this year's event. Check out the participants page for more information on who is involved in this year's BioBlitz.

Where

Wilbert Snow School in Middletown, CT is the host of this year's event and will act as "BioBlitz Headquarters" for the scientists and students.

When

The BioBlitz officially starts on Friday, June 8 at 4pm and lasts until Saturday, June 9 at 4pm. The public is invited to attend the BioBlitz on Saturday, June 9, from 10am to 3pm. Presentations from the junior scientists will be given and the public will have a chance to interact with the participants.

Why

The purpose of the BioBlitz is to educate the public about biodiversity and the world around them. It also serves to demonstrate just how biodiverse the state is.
